Ethical jewellery in Fairtrade, SMO and recycled gold, glass beads and sustainable feathers.
Francesca uses ethical materials to create her jewellery, each component of her art process reflects her integrity and love for the Planet.
Although currently letting gold and glass beads hold the center of her artistic space, Francesca’s journey has been a life long process with its roots in the colours and culture of her native Sicily, and her childhood spent there and it continued with her worldly travels and deep spiritual exploration.
Each piece that Francesca creates becomes a portal to an enchanted world and it is accompanied by a story:
"In the writing of a story that goes with a piece of jewellery, I put in the intention to unlock a magical interpretation of what we call ‘reality’. I intend to pass this magical interpretation on, so others can explore what magic means for them and use their piece of jewellery like a portal to their own inner dimensional reality. I guess you can call it Magical Realism"
Francesca has taken up humble task of continually researching and recreating the concept of ceremony as it exists today. Her jewellery is her ceremonial offering to its wearer reminding them of the magic and mystery of life and helping them to enter into its present moment.
Her jewellery carries intention and potential to unlock the conscious energy of its custodian. Each piece is a symbolic and physical blessing.
The passion and love of Francesca’s art radiates from her unique creations touching the hearts of the many people who proudly wear her pieces.

I have been a practising artist since 2012 and am based in Cornwall with a studio at Trewidden Gardens, Penzance. I am a painter and work in acrylics, watercolour inks : my subject matter crosses between the figurative and the landscape. The ideas behind my work are informed by mostly time travelling recently! Lockdown has changed my perspective to look locally, at nature and treasure what surrounds us. I am a Storyteller.

Francesca is an award-winning painter, living and working in West Penwith, Cornwall. Francesca exhibits with galleries internationally and works from her studio in Penzance and outside in a field nearby Botallack, St Just.
Painting directly out in the environment forces us to stop, to notice our surroundings in a deeper way and then to respond accordingly. Francesca does not intend to create literal depictions; her work is rooted in ‘feeling’, in ‘instinct’ ‘observation’, and in ‘intuition’. Therefore she hopes that an expressive and powerful image is created that evokes the feeling of that place, of that day and of that moment. In The Colourfields, paintings can be left outside to weather and be worked on again and again.
To find a ‘great sense of connectedness’ with the natural world.
Painting a story, is about looking more deeply at the landscape, in folklore stories were ways of communicating, of entertaining and keeping culture alive, they were unifying. If a story can be found in a painting it goes on to live a life beyond the obvious initial form that we see upon first appearances. Places are rooted in stories, of past times whether real or imagined. As children, we listened to stories, which fueled our imagination, for example.
Years ago before we could read or write stories were passed down through generation, they could tell us something about the seasons, a group of people, animals etc.. They are powerful tools, which we need to fuel our imaginations and to teach us about things in this world and beyond it. Stories can also take us away from a reality into a realm of magic where everything is possible.
Francesca leads 3 and 5 day courses in ‘Landscape Painting and Natural Pigments’ and self-guided residential courses with use of indoor and outdoor studios and accommodation.

Lives and works in West Cornwall, UK.
“As a painter I graduated in Fine Art from University College Falmouth in 2010.
Living in West Cornwall it seems only natural that my work has been influenced by the beautiful nature of the surrounding landscape. My aim is to capture the changing light, dramatic skies and vivid colours that dominate this narrow peninsula.

My work is a combination of sensation, memory and loose, unchronological narrative. I’m interested in the volumes and spaces of the world I see in fractured glimpses, the shapes described and filled by plants and other beings. My paintings have a strong decorative quality, but are based on mood and memory, and the tension between the garden and the wild.
Bio: I graduated from Dartington College of Arts in the 90s, though was creating art long before that. I have lived in many parts of the UK and Europe and travelled widely in Scandinavia, Spain, India, America. Somehow I ended up in Cornwall five years ago, and have been working on a mining project for four of those years. As a result I am researching the concepts of Deep Time and thinking about our relationships to the Earth. I co-edited the Of Earth, For Earth book and co-curated the exhibition of the same name in 2020. I am co-founder of the arts hub Deep Earth Synergies, www.deepearthsynergies.org and a member of the Newlyn Society of Artists https://www.nsanewlyn.com/
